Have students work in small groups to answer a question. This is a great strategy if you don't have a device for every student or you want students to brainstorm possible answers before responding.
If each group has their own device you can instruct students to discuss their ideas for a few minutes before submitting their "final answer". If you're doing this as a whole class lesson around a projector/smart board, then ask students to talk with their partner first and then open it up as a discussion with the class. This works especially great with multiple choice questions.
